Volunteering at the Osher Institute

Volunteering is a great way to give back and get involved in your community. There are a variety of benefits that come with volunteering at the Osher Institute, including meeting new people who share a common interest in lifelong learning and being able to share your own experiences with others. Volunteering can also allow you to provide input into the Osher Institute’s programming, contribute to the Osher Institute’s success, and support the Institute’s philosophy of “robust volunteer leadership.”

Volunteering Opportunities

There are a variety of ways to volunteer with the Osher Institute, including:

  • Serving as a greeter before class
  • Joining a Curriculum Track Committee
  • Distributing Osher catalogs across the Treasure Valley
  • Assisting with special events and mailings
  • Participating in our Scholarship, Travel, or Volunteer Committee
  • Being a Special Interest Group (SIG) leader
  • Serving on the Advisory Board

We offer long-term volunteering commitments in the form of our Advisory Board, committees, and SIG leadership. All other volunteer opportunities are short-term and can range from thirty minutes to a full day.
